Summary of the contracting process

Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council has completed the procurement process for the "Open Framework for the Provision of Short Breaks," aimed at enhancing health and social work services across Stockport, United Kingdom. Operating under the open procedure method, this framework is intended to develop a broad range of adaptable short breaks, either purchased directly by individuals or commissioned by the local authority. The process was part of the light-touch regime and is designed as an open framework scheme, providing flexibility in service offerings. The standstill period extends until 23 December 2025, with the contract starting on 26 December 2025 and ending on 30 November 2033. Covering three lots, the total estimated gross worth is £9,000,000.

Businesses in the health and social care sector have significant growth opportunities through this framework, particularly those able to deliver residential and community-based services. With a focus on quality, the framework rewards innovation, and the Council particularly welcomes SMEs and VCSEs to participate. CQC registration is required for providers of personal care services within homes or residential settings, presenting a stable long-term partnership opportunity for capable and compliant suppliers. The open and inclusive nature of this framework encourages a wide range of businesses to bring their expertise to improve service provision locally, driving growth through extensive demand for quality care solutions across the borough.
