Summary of the contracting process

BLUELIGHT COMMERCIAL LIMITED is currently in the planning stage of a public procurement process focused on the disposal and associated services for Nitrous Oxide Gas and Canisters, classified as a prohibited Class C Drug. Located in London, this initiative seeks national coverage to serve UK Police Forces and other agencies, ensuring compliance, cost-efficiency, and reliability. The tender is divided into several Lots, including full-service provision, transportation, storage, and disposal services that span from collection to revenue generation. A market engagement survey is open until 4 September 2025, and further notices are expected by 12 September 2025. The main procurement category is services, with the estimated contract spanning from November 2025 to November 2029.

This project represents a substantial business opportunity for companies specialising in hazardous waste services, particularly those with expertise in transportation, storage, and disposal solutions. Given the national scope and framework structure, it is well-suited for service providers across the UK, including SMEs. Companies adept in regulatory compliance and innovative pricing models are likely to find this tender appealing as it promises collaboration with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders. Participation could enhance growth potential through involvement in a high-profile public undertaking. Feedback to shape the final structure of the procurement process is welcomed through the completion of the provided survey.
