Notice Description
Provision of Occupational Health Services for Cumberland Council. We are seeking services that will help us improve workforce attendance, meet statutory obligations around health surveillance, and identify preventative measures to reduce sickness absence. The service will also play a key role in promoting employee wellbeing and supporting the Council's strategic priorities as set out in the Cumberland Council Plan.

Renewal: There is the potential for a contract extension of 3 further periods of up to 12 months each and no more than 36 months, depending on both the success in achieving the required outcomes and availability of further funding.

We recognise that a healthy, supported, and resilient workforce is essential to delivering high-quality, inclusive public services that reflect the needs of our residents and communities. Our ambition is to achieve positive outcomes in health and wellbeing, economic prosperity, and environmental sustainability across Cumberland. The Council is currently reviewing its options for the future delivery of its Occupational Health Service (OHS), as the existing hosted service arrangements are due to conclude on 31 March 2026. We are seeking services that will help us improve workforce attendance, meet statutory obligations around health surveillance, and identify preventative measures to reduce sickness absence. The service will also play a key role in promoting employee wellbeing and supporting the Council's strategic priorities as set out in the Cumberland Council Plan. An early draft of the service specification will be shared with the market shortly and will be attached to this notice once available. The Council is committed to conducting procurement in a fair, transparent, and inclusive manner in line with the Procurement Act 2023. As part of our preliminary market engagement, we invite all interested suppliers to attend an open session which will provide further information and aims to explore opportunities and gather initial feedback. This session will be held on MS Teams on 9th September 2025 at 13:45 to 14:45 In addition to the group session, we will offer optional one-to-one conversations via MS Teams at the below timeslots with suppliers to better understand market capabilities and perspectives.
