Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process, led by DESNZ & DSIT Group Commercial located in London, UK, sought to award a contract valued at £5,000,000 for the provision of research services in the category of scientific and research services. The procurement was conducted under the title "AI Security Institute: Human Participant Recruitment and Platform Support" and was concluded with an award. The tender was part of a framework agreement under the CCS framework RM6200 for artificial intelligence services. The process utilised a limited procurement method without prior publication of a call for competition due to its classification as outside the scope of application of the directive. Prolific Research USA Inc was awarded the contract on 21 August 2025.

This tender provides substantial opportunities for businesses involved in large-scale participant recruitment and platform management, particularly those experienced in handling high-volume and varied research studies. Companies with robust capabilities in recruiting, paying, and managing communications with study participants would find this contract particularly relevant. Given the nature of the requirements, which involve up to 25,000 participants in some studies, the opportunity favours larger suppliers or those with specialised experience in research services, making it an attractive prospect for businesses seeking to expand their service offerings in the artificial intelligence and research sectors.
