The procurement is divided into 8 lots (Lots 1 - 4 for Endodontics and Lots 5 - 8 for Prosthodontics) in the BOB ICB area & and Frimley ICB (East Berkshire) area. Providers may bid for a maximum of 4 Lots (Maximum of 2 from lots 1 - 4 and maximum of 2 from lots 5 - 8). Endodontic treatment encompasses procedures that are designed to maintain the health of all or part of the dental pulp. As part of dentistry's main goal to maintain a healthy, natural dentition for the public, the aim of endodontic treatment is to preserve functional teeth without prejudice to the patient's health. The discipline of Prosthodontics comprises the reconstruction and replacement of teeth and associated soft and hard tissue defects or pathology using prostheses including intra-coronal restorations, occlusal splints, crowns, bridges and dentures, which may be fixed or removable and supported by teeth, soft tissues or dental implants. Prosthodontics plays a major role in oral health related quality of life, in particular in relation to oral comfort, speech, mastication, aesthetics and perception of well-being Specialist care is typically carried out alongside general dental care and maintenance of the dentition in a shared care arrangement with the referring practitioner, wherein the specialist would carry out agreed items of specialist care in liaison with, and with the agreement of, the referring dentist and the patient. The service will provide Level 2 and 3 Endodontics and Level 2 and 3 Prosthodontics for patients being referred by General Dental Practitioners (GDPs) included on the NHS South East Regional National Performers Lists, for patients residing, or with a General Medical Practitioner (GMP) within the ICB for which the service has been commissioned. The service will work to a time-limited national Personal Dental Services (PDS) agreement. The service will provide consistent, high-quality care based on the quality assurance principles as set out in the PDS agreement. The Level 2/3 service is defined as procedures/conditions to be performed or managed by an accredited Level 2/3 clinician with enhanced skills, competence and experience who may or may not be on a specialist list. The maximum total initial contract values (5 years) for each lot are as follows: Lot 1 - Endodontics Buckinghamshire: PS788,400 Lot 2 - Endodontics Oxfordshire: PS1,002,600 Lot 3 - Endodontic Berkshire West s: PS712,200 Lot 4 - Endodontics Berkshire East: PS613,800 Lot 5 - Prosthodontics Buckinghamshire: PS729,400 Lot 6 - Prosthodontics Oxfordshire: PS927,500 Lot 7 - Prosthodontics Berkshire West: PS658,700 Lot 8 - Prosthodontics Berkshire East: PS567,700 The contract term is planned to commence on 1st April 2026 and will be for a duration of 5 years with an optional extension of 2 years.
