Summary of the contracting process

The North Yorkshire Council has initiated a planning process for a procurement titled "Incident Reporting & Auditing Solution". The procurement falls under the services and goods industry category, primarily dealing with software packages, information systems, and IT services. This project is particularly focused on developing a comprehensive system for accident and incident reporting and auditing within a large organisation. The council has scheduled a preliminary market engagement, with a request for information closing on 17th October 2025. This engagement aims to draft a future tender specification and gauge market offerings. The procurement process is in the planning stage, with a projected contract period from 21st May 2026 to 20th May 2030.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the technology and security sectors, particularly those specialising in IT consulting, software development, and surveillance systems. The potential contract value is estimated at £360,000, offering substantial business growth possibilities for both SMEs and VCSEs. Companies capable of delivering a versatile, reliable, and comprehensive reporting and auditing solution with support services are well-suited to compete. The process will help the authority explore various solutions, make budgetary decisions, and refine tender specifications to meet organisational needs effectively.
