Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is driven by the Home Office, a central government public authority based in London, United Kingdom. The current stage is in planning under an initiative tagged as a "request for information" (RFI) concerning automated translation and transcription technologies. The title of the initiative is "Home Office - Auto-translation and transcription Request for Information." This is part of market research conducted by the Home Office involving its Migration & Borders System. Key dates include the deadline for suppliers to submit responses and a signed NDA by 17:00 on Friday, 31 October 2025. The industry category falls under services, particularly focusing on foreign language translation software development services, and the opportunity is suitable for SMEs.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in interpretation, translation, and transcription services to engage with central government operations. The RFI aims to understand current and emerging market capabilities, potentially leading to future procurement opportunities. Small and medium-sized enterprises with expertise in developing foreign language translation software within the UK will find this a promising chance to showcase their capabilities and contribute to governmental digital transformation efforts. Interested suppliers should promptly contact the designated point of contact, Laura Bogdanova, to participate in this preliminary market engagement.
