Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust, invites tenders for the provision of Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) training. This procurement is part of an active open procedure aimed at finding qualified providers to deliver training services to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board. With a gross budget of £268,578, the tender process is currently at the planning stage with submission deadlines ending on 5th December 2025. Training services are to be conducted in regions UKL17 and UKL15 in the United Kingdom. The enquiry period concludes on 28th November 2025, and the contract is expected to be awarded by 29th December 2025, initially spanning from 19th January 2026 to 18th January 2028, with potential extensions to 2030.

This contract presents substantial growth opportunities for businesses specialising in training services, particularly those with experience in handling complex healthcare environments. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are encouraged to apply, as the procurement strategy supports the inclusion of diverse suppliers. The NHS’s focus on the Well-being of Future Generations Act and reducing carbon footprint highlights a preference for businesses that are compliant with quality, environmental and safety standards such as ISO certifications. Firms that possess expertise in creating innovative, sustainable training solutions for healthcare settings, specifically concerning aggression management, will find this tender particularly suited to their capabilities.
