Summary of the contracting process

The Great Places Housing Group Limited is planning a procurement process titled "Fire Safety Remedial Works," targeting the works industry category. This open tender, estimated up to £8 million, seeks contractors for remedial works derived from fire risk assessments, primarily involving passive firestopping work such as fire door installations. The project spans the Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire, High Peak, and South Yorkshire regions. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with a tender submission deadline set for 19th January 2026 and an award period completing by 19th March 2026. The contract, managed under an open procedure, could extend for up to eight years with potential call-off contracts executed directly or via mini-competitions.

This contract presents substantial opportunities for businesses, particularly those experienced in fire safety, fire prevention installation works, and electrical and mechanical installations. SMEs are especially encouraged to participate, given the framework's design to support them through competitive flexible procedures. The project's large scope and significant duration of up to eight years allow participating businesses not only to secure immediate work but also to establish a long-term relationship with Great Places Housing Group. Given the project's nature, firms with capabilities in innovative fire risk prevention and compliance with new safety regulations stand to gain, helping them grow through sustainable and strategic engagements.
