Summary of the contracting process

The current procurement process involves the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, intending to award a contract for the provision of residential nursing care services under the framework agreement for adult mental health. The title of the tender is "AP- Maes-Y-Dderwen," with the primary procurement category being services in the healthcare sector. This initiative is situated in the UK, specifically under the region coded as UKL (Wales). The process is in the award stage, following the Health Services (Provider Selection Regime) (Wales) Regulations 2025. Key deadlines include the start of a standstill period on 15 October 2025, during which providers can make representations. This procurement follows a framework agreement with specifics governed by a potential call-off contract under Lot CS7.

This tender provides substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in the provision of residential nursing services, particularly those equipped to handle adult mental health cases. Companies that are part of the healthcare framework and possess the capability to deliver enhanced care packages will find this contract particularly promising. The partnership with SHAW HEALTHCARE (GROUP) LTD highlights the importance of having qualified nurses and the ability to address specialised needs, creating avenues for suppliers within the healthcare domain to showcase their strengths and expand their service provisions. The specified non-competitive call-off from a framework may favour businesses already on the framework, streamlining the procurement process for those well-acquainted with the nuanced requirements of such contractual agreements.
