Summary of the contracting process

The Department for Transport, a central government public authority based in London, has issued a tender titled "Airport National Policy Statement (ANPS) - Consultancy for supporting activity." This procurement falls under the industry category of Environmental Impact Assessment services for construction and aims to provide consultancy support to amend and update the Airport National Policy Statement following a review. The procurement is at the tender stage, with an open procedure being used, and the total estimated value is £600,000. Key dates include an enquiry period ending on 11 November 2025, a tender submission deadline on 18 November 2025, and potential contract commencement from 17 December 2025 through to 16 May 2026, with an option for renewal. This tender presents significant opportunities for consultancy firms specialising in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Appraisals of Sustainability (AoS), Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRA), Equalities Impact Assessment (EqIA), and Health Impact Analysis (HIA). The procurement seeks businesses with expertise in these technical areas and provides a platform for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations to participate. Additionally, the open procedure allows a wide pool of candidates to compete, creating a business growth avenue for companies that can demonstrate their capabilities in the associated services and quality deliverables. Enterprises that offer innovative, environmentally conscious solutions that align with government criteria such as economic growth, air quality, noise commitments, and climate change obligations would find this tender particularly well-suited to their expertise.
