Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board has completed an urgent procurement process for the contract titled "Specialist Support with Feeding Plan to enable Hospital Discharge / Placement". This service, classified under the health services category (CPV: 85100000), takes place in Liverpool Place, UKD7. The awarded contract, valued at £474,000, commenced on 22nd September 2025 and covers a 6-month period until 21st March 2026, with an optional extension for another six months. The procurement was conducted through a limited procedure under the Provider Selection Regime, bypassing the usual Public Contracts Regulations 2015, due to the necessity of responding quickly to a critical healthcare need to support a patient's discharge from an acute hospital setting.

This tender provides significant opportunities for businesses specialising in healthcare services, particularly those capable of delivering complex and urgent care support for patients with specific needs. Companies experienced in providing clinical support and interventions, especially under high-pressure or urgent conditions, are well-suited to compete for such contracts. The involvement of Independent Clinical Services Ltd (Trading as Thornbury Community Services) highlights the suitability for large-scale organisations adept at rapidly mobilising specialised care teams to meet critical healthcare requirements promptly. Business growth in this sector can be achieved by developing niche services catering to complex medical care needs under urgent circumstances.
