Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process to commission an Adult Non-Complex Audiology Service. This market engagement, conducted under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, focuses on health services within the region of Birmingham and Solihull, UK (UKG3). A market engagement event is scheduled for the 16th of January 2025, from 10 am to 11 am, via Microsoft Teams, with an expression of interest due by the 15th of January 2025 at 17:00 hrs. This initiative aims to provide community-based adult screening, hearing assessments, and related treatments across both urban and rural areas for patients registered with a local GP under the Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board.

This procurement opportunity represents a substantial prospect for businesses specialising in healthcare services and audiology, offering a contract valued at £36.4 million. Companies with expertise in community-based medical services, particularly those equipped to handle sensory impairments and domiciliary care, stand to benefit significantly. Additionally, providers that offer translation services and cater to individuals with learning disabilities could prove to be strong candidates. The engagement positions businesses to expand their operations within the health sector by contributing to comprehensive care solutions, all while enhancing local healthcare accessibility and outcomes.
