Summary of the contracting process

Transport for London (TfL), a central government public authority, is conducting a Preliminary Market Engagement exercise focusing on the Escalator Machined Parts Framework. This procurement process is currently in the planning stage and is designed to gather market feedback that will guide the development and finalisation of TfL’s procurement and commercial strategies for the framework. Key engagement activities are scheduled, including the completion of a Market Sounding Questionnaire (MSQ) by 11th February 2026. Suppliers interested in participating should contact TfL by 4th February 2026. This exercise targets the goods category, specifically parts of escalators, with activities taking place in London, UK. TfL plans to establish a framework agreement starting from November 2026, with potential extensions up to 2034. The total estimated value of this procurement is approximately £4,808,161 GBP.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in manufacturing or supplying escalator components. Companies that specialise in producing high-quality machined parts for escalators, such as balustrades, handrails, drive shafts, and other related components, could benefit significantly. The framework aims to support TfL's in-house team with planned and reactive maintenance, thus it is well-suited for SMEs capable of offering reliable supply chains and innovative solutions. By engaging early in this process, businesses can influence TfL’s procurement strategies and establish valuable connections that may lead to future contracts. This is an excellent opportunity to build a partnership with a major public authority, contributing to long-term business growth.
