Summary of the contracting process

Buckinghamshire Council is planning a procurement process for the All-Age Carers Support Service, which is designed to support both adult and young carers. This procurement falls under the services industry category and is expected to be delivered in the UKJ13 region of the United Kingdom. Currently, the procurement is at the planning stage, with a tender period ending on 27th February 2026 and the award period concluding on 7th April 2026. The total contract value is projected to be £4,620,000 gross, with a net amount of £3,850,000 in GBP. The procurement method is an open procedure, supporting initiatives under The Carers Trust's strategy outlined in their All-Age Carers Strategy 2025-2030. The contract is set to commence on 1st July 2026 and may extend until 30th June 2029, with potential renewals extending to 2031.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specializing in delivering guidance services, especially those capable of innovative digital offerings and collaborative approaches. Firms with expertise in providing support to carers, possibly through partnerships, will find this tender well-aligned with their capabilities, particularly if they can enhance their offerings to meet the comprehensive needs outlined in the service specification. By engaging in this procurement, businesses can expand their portfolio and strengthen their position within the public sector, leveraging the opportunity to work with Buckinghamshire Council and contribute to the broader support network for carers in the region.

All-Age Carers Support Service

Notice Description

Buckinghamshire Council will be procuring a Contract for a Provider to deliver the All-Age Carers Support Service, which will support both Adult and young carers, as well as a new digital offer. Our vision for the proposed service aligns with the leading national charity for carers, The Carers Trust, and is outlined in our All-Age Carers Strategy 2025-2030, published in February 2025. We want every carer in Buckinghamshire to be recognised and valued, being able to access the information, support and resources they need to live fulfilling lives, alongside their caring role. Please be advised that delivery of the upcoming service may require providers to engage in collaborative working arrangements. This approach is intended to ensure that all aspects of the service specification are met effectively and to deliver the best possible outcomes for unpaid carers in Buckinghamshire. Providers should consider opportunities for partnership working as part of their planning and proposal development.
