Summary of the contracting process

Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust has initiated a public procurement process for the provision of confined space management services across its hospital sites in London, UK. The procurement is at the "tender" stage following previous market engagement activities. The contract, valued at £1,250,000, aims to secure services including confined space rescue operations, planned site inspections, and emergency response coverage. Submissions are invited until 17th March 2026, with a follow-up award decision expected by 8th April 2026. Delivery of these vital health and safety consultancy services is set to commence on 7th May 2026, aligning with their scheduled contract period.

This tender presents significant business growth potential, especially for companies specialising in health and safety consultancy. With the procurement method listed as "open," diverse businesses capable of delivering high-quality emergency and scheduled services can engage. Tenders are evaluated based on quality, price, and social value, with a strong inclination towards businesses that can guarantee a maximum four-hour emergency response time. Firms with established proficiency in equipment certification and compliance management, and capable of handling both scheduled and emergency operational demands, will be well-suited to compete for this opportunity.
