Summary of the contracting process

The University of St Andrews has successfully awarded a contract for supplying a UV nanoimprint lithography system required by the School of Physics & Astronomy. This procurement falls under the industry category of instruments for checking physical characteristics, located in St Andrews, UK (region UKM72). The procurement process was conducted using an open procedure and concluded with the contract award on the 10th of April 2026, following a standstill period for review. The awarded contract, valued at €470,497.50, was granted to EV Group Europe & Asia/Pacific GmbH, marking the completion of this procurement stage.

This tender provides substantial business growth opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in high-precision lithography systems and related technologies. Businesses capable of offering advanced equipment to replicate sub-micron structures and support a range of photoresist and semiconductor materials are well-suited to compete. The recent award highlights the demand for such specialised systems by educational institutions, creating avenues for suppliers to innovate and tailor their solutions to meet educational and research needs. Furthermore, businesses that utilise electronic procurement methods and can comply with open procedure requirements might find themselves in an advantageous position to engage in similar future opportunities with the University or similar bodies.
