Summary of the contracting process

The UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) is conducting a Preliminary Market Engagement (PME) for planning advice on hydrological monitoring instruments under its Floods and Droughts Research Infrastructure (FDRI) Programme. This engagement focuses on environmental engineering consultancy services and urban planning, with a primary location in the United Kingdom. Currently in the planning stage, the market engagement exercise is scheduled to conclude by 20 February 2026. Interested parties are invited to submit expressions of interest showcasing relevant expertise and local knowledge by the specified deadline.

This engagement offers valuable opportunities for town planning professionals and consultancies specialising in environmental engineering and urban planning. Participating businesses could contribute to projects requiring initial assessments of planning permissions, advice on planning risks, and guidance on statutory consents and approvals. Such involvement could foster growth through the provision of specialised insights within the hydrological sector and potential future commercial arrangements. Ideal candidates are those with experience in environmental considerations and a keen understanding of local planning challenges. This process will inform future procurements and possible call-off contracts, creating opportunities for ongoing collaborations.
