Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Hackney is involved in a procurement process for providing overnight care services for disabled children in Hackney. The procurement falls under the health and social work services category and it aims to support children towards independence while giving families respite. The project encompasses an open framework agreement set to commence from 1st June 2026 through to 31st May 2030. Despite initial stages of cancellation under the identifier ocds-h6vhtk-0649df, the requirement continues under a new identifier facilitating an open procedure. A virtual engagement event is scheduled for 5th March 2026 to discuss the specifics of the Overnight provision lot, integral to shaping this framework and involving stakeholders from various sectors.

This tender offers lucrative opportunities for businesses capable of delivering high-quality care services, especially those specialising in overnight support within a residential-style setting. With a focus on systemic, trauma-informed, and anti-racist practices, the framework demands collaborative work with the local authority to promote psychological safety and inclusiveness. Ideal competitors would be organisations with active Ofsted registration and suitable facilities within or near London, particularly Hackney. The competitive flexible procedure opens doors for SMEs and VCSEs, looking to expand their service provision in the public sector while contributing to Hackney's strategic goals under the Children Act and Equality Act. The upcoming procurement phase represents a promising prospect for expanding services that enhance quality of life and provide vital support to families in Hackney.
