Summary of the contracting process

Caerphilly County Borough Council is in the planning stage of a procurement process for the provision of security at Ty Fesen and other sites within its Emergency Temporary Accommodation portfolio. This procurement falls under the services industry category, specifically targeting security services, and will take place in the United Kingdom, region UKL16. The council, located at Penallta House, Tredomen Park, Hengoed, is holding a supplier engagement event on 27 March 2026, with further engagements possibly in April. Service providers must register their interest via email by 20 March 2026. The contract is intended to commence on 1 September 2026, running for three years with an option to extend for another two years. The procurement method includes preliminary market engagement to understand available services before moving to tender.

This procurement offers business growth opportunities for security companies, potentially including SMEs and VCSEs, suited to provide security and concierge services in emergency housing and business park environments. Potential suppliers will have the chance to build long-term relationships with the council, benefiting from a high-value contract with an estimated gross amount of £1,824,000. This tender provides a platform for security businesses to expand their services, particularly those with expertise in managing safety and security across multiple venues, such as residential accommodations and business parks. The focus on security services and auxiliary duties like CCTV monitoring during evenings, weekends, and bank holidays enhances the appeal to companies proficient in these areas, especially those with SIA licensing, DBS checks, and related qualifications.
