Summary of the contracting process

The Home Office is actively seeking tenders for the "Cross-Channel Transport Services," a project initiated and managed under an open procedure governed by the UK Procurement Act 2023. The procurement falls within the services category, with a focus on the hire of buses and coaches with drivers, particularly for routes between the UK and France. Based in London, the Home Office announces this tender to cater primarily to transport needs between Folkestone, Calais, and Coquelles. The tender stage is currently active, with key dates including an enquiry period ending on 26th May 2026, a tender submission deadline of 9th June 2026, and an award expected by 24th July 2026. The total estimated contract value is £2,640,000, and potential contractors must comply with all relevant health, safety, and safeguarding regulations.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specializing in transport services, with a requirement for coach service provision, driver qualifications, and operational reliability. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are particularly encouraged to participate, and those with expertise in logistics and passenger transportation will find this contract well-suited to their capabilities. The procurement offers a chance to establish or expand service offerings across international borders, given its scope involving cross-Channel operations. Companies adept at handling large-scale transport logistics and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations can gain strategic advantages and new business growth through successful tendering for this project. The contract includes potential renewal options, offering further opportunities for long-term collaboration with the Home Office.
