Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board (BNSSG ICB) is concluding the procurement process for the provision of health services under the title "Bristol Dementia Wellbeing Service," delivered by Devon Partnership NHS Trust in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Society. This contract, valued at £12,233,966, commenced with the standstill period from 2 March 2026, allowing for representations until 12 March 2026. This procurement, following the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, is a direct award procedure without prior publication, aligning with a clustering arrangement for a forthcoming organisational merger. The procurement method is limited, reflecting an intention to award directly and bypassing broader competition, reflecting the specialised nature of dementia care services.

This tender presents significant opportunities for organisations specialising in health services, particularly those experienced in integrated care models and dementia support. Businesses that focus on innovative healthcare solutions, community health engagement, and collaborative care initiatives are aptly suited to partake in such frameworks. The involvement of Devon Partnership NHS Trust and the Alzheimer's Society highlights potential subcontracting avenues, wherein service providers can contribute to a comprehensive dementia support pathway. Furthermore, companies offering technological solutions for personalised care plans, diagnostics, and remote support services may find growth possibilities by enhancing the efficacy and reach of existing support structures. The Bristol Dementia Wellbeing Service exemplifies an integrated approach, offering a platform for providers to demonstrate expertise in delivering value-driven and person-centred health services.
