Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for Wellbeing Services - Crisis Cafe is undertaken by NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board, with the contract situated within the Health Services industry category, specifically under the main procurement category of services. The location for delivery is in the UKD4 region. Currently, the procurement stage is at the award phase, functioning under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) rather than the typical Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The intention to award was published on 11 March 2026 with a standstill period allowing representations until 24 March 2026 before formal award confirmation is given. The contract's anticipated start date is 1 April 2026, concluding on 31 March 2027, having an approximate value of £76,305.

This tender presents significant opportunities for growth within businesses that specialise in health services, particularly those with experience or established presence in providing wellbeing services. Given that the NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board is committed to collaboration, quality, and improving service sustainability, businesses adept at integrating such values in their offerings are well-suited to compete. As the existing provider, Positive Futures Wellbeing Services, demonstrates satisfaction of the original contract, businesses capable of matching or exceeding their standards in areas such as quality and service innovation may find this procurement advantageous for expansion within the region. The procurement method is restricted, with no prior publication of a call for competition, indicating that businesses already aligned with the objectives and assessment criteria set forth may have substantive competitive leverage.
