Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Camden has issued a Voluntary ex Ante Transparency Notice regarding a contract variation for its "Camden Respite Rooms" service. This notice outlines a proposed 12-month extension for a social work services contract, focusing on providing accommodation support for women facing homelessness or rough sleeping. Originally established in March 2020, the current contract with Single Homeless Project is set to expire on 31 March 2026, with the extension running from 1 April 2026. The process is in the Award stage, involving a standstill period of 10 days to manage potential legal challenges prior to executing the contract variation. Situated in Camden, London (region UKI31), this service aligns under the 'services' industry category, particularly concerning social work services with accommodation, supported by the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime with a dedicated funding grant.

This extension offers continuity and stability for both the supplier, Single Homeless Project, and stakeholders, enabling further collaboration and development of future services beyond April 2027. Companies specialising in social services, especially with expertise in housing and support for vulnerable women, may find significant opportunities for engagement and contribution within this framework. Larger social enterprises and regional authorities experienced in managing similar supported accommodations could leverage this contract to strengthen their service portfolio and build partnerships within the public sector, especially as the buyer actively seeks collaboration during the extension period.
