Summary of the contracting process

The Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust (MCFT) has declared its intention to award a contract to Warrington Youth Zone for the provision of a Mental Health Drop-In service aimed at young people aged 7-19 experiencing emotional wellbeing issues. This new contract is set to be mobilised from 01 April 2026 for one year, following a decision by the Senior Leadership Team of the Community Care Division. The industry category is Health and Social Work Services, with service provision centred in Warrington, UKD7. The procurement process is in the award stage, conducted under a Provider Selection Regime without a prior call for competition. Representations by providers must be submitted by 24 March 2026.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses in the health services sector, particularly those with experience in youth-focused initiatives, to engage with a recognised public body. Companies skilled at delivering mental health services to young people can benefit by demonstrating their support capabilities, although the contract is expected to continue with the existing provider due to satisfactory service delivery. The procurement method, a limited award without competitive bidding, emphasises the importance of established relationships and proven service quality.
