Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for the provision of SEND Mediation and Disagreement Resolution Services is being orchestrated by Lancashire County Council. This initiative aims to deliver a statutory mediation service for children and young people aged 0-25 with Special Education Needs and Disabilities. The current procurement stage is planning, with future notices anticipated to be published by 1 July 2026. Located in the UKD4 region, this tender belongs to the health and social work services industry category and has a planned contract period from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2037, with a significant projected value of GBP 8,800,000.

This upcoming tender presents a substantial opportunity for growth, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) capable of delivering health and social work services. Businesses with the capacity to engage in statutory mediation, provide disagreement resolution, and offer tribunal-related services will be well-suited to compete in this procurement process. The engagement through the planning phase also allows potential providers to shape the service structure, enhancing their positioning in this competitive landscape.
