Summary of the contracting process

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has established a National Framework Agreement for Teleradiology, Telepathology, and Telemedicine Services, valued at approximately £50,000,000 and spanning until 17 June 2029. This agreement is conducted under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 and involves a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) procurement method, exempting the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and The Procurement Regulations 2024. The framework is split into two Lots: Lot 1 for Teleradiology and Telemedicine Services, and Lot 2 for Telepathology Services. Key decision makers include Senior Commercial Procurement Specialists and the Director of Commercial Procurement Services. The framework, which commenced on 18 June 2026, will be accessible to all Relevant Authorities, per definitions in NHS Acts, and focuses on health services across multiple UK regions including UKC, UKD, and others. New providers may be added annually throughout the four-year term.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those adept in teleradiology and telemedicine technologies. SMEs with innovative solutions in telehealth, particularly those that can contribute to quality improvements and service sustainability, will find this framework highly beneficial. With the framework’s annual reopening to new applicants, businesses have the chance to expand their reach within NHS service networks each year. Suppliers such as Curx Health Ltd and others already benefit under this initiative, indicating a receptive market for both established entities and emerging firms with competitive offers in healthcare digital transformation.
