Summary of the contracting process

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust procured taxi services for Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, Burnley General Teaching Hospital and Blackpool Victoria Hospital. The service also requires enhanced DBS checks for all staff involved, valid driving licences, appropriate clothing and photo identification, legally compliant vehicles, and cleaning after every journey under hospital infection-control procedures. Suppliers need robust incident handling, including rapid reporting of serious harm, complaint responses, lessons-learned processes and tested business-continuity arrangements. Strong monthly management information, electronic invoicing with detailed Excel charging data, and participation in service-review meetings are also central to delivery. The criteria show that quality and social value matter alongside price, and that SMEs and VCSEs were considered suitable.

The selected provider will be expected to provide to cover the geographical area around Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital.

Renewal: The option to extend will be on a 12 months plus a further 12 months term.

East Lancashire Hospital Trust wish to enter in to a contract with a suitably qualified provider for the provision of Taxi services for Burnley General Teaching Hospital, for patients and Adhoc pick ups and drop offs including samples and case notes. The selected provider will be expected to provide to cover the geographical area around Burnley General Teaching Hospital.

Renewal: The option to extend will be on a 12 months plus a further 12 months term.

Lot 3- Blackpool Teaching Hospital - Taxi services

Blackpool Victoria Hospital wish to enter in to a contract with a suitably qualified provider for the provision of Taxi services for Royal Blackpool Victoria Hospital, for patients, Staff and Adhoc pick ups and drop offs including samples and case notes. The selected provider will be expected to provide to cover the geographical area around Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Renewal: The option to extend will be on a 12 months plus a further 12 months term.
