Summary of the contracting process

The Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust has awarded a contract for the provision of psychological support services under the title "Oakfield Psychological Services." This contract falls under the health services category, focusing specifically on paediatric patients with conditions such as oncology, diabetes/endocrine, neuro/epilepsy, and gastroenterology. The contract, valued at £82,038, runs from 1 October 2025 to 31 August 2026. The procurement was conducted as a direct award under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR), and it bypasses the typical Public Contracts Regulations. Key award activities concluded on 5 May 2026, with services primarily located in the UKJ4 region.

This contract presents significant opportunities for businesses specializing in paediatric psychological support services, particularly those with experience in delivering brief emotional wellbeing support and psychoeducational interventions. The awarded supplier, Oakfield Psychological Services Limited, is a large-scale provider, but similar entities with robust service delivery capabilities in specific long-term paediatric conditions may find opportunities in future contracts under the Provider Selection Regime. The limited procurement method used suggests a focus on specialized expertise and proven service quality, making the contract less suited for new entrants or general service providers.
