Summary of the contracting process

West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust procured taxi and other road-transport services for non-emergency patient journeys. The service is for patients travelling to and from hospital who cannot travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical needs. The Trust says it provides these journeys across parts of the region and handles approximately 700,000 non-emergency patient journeys each year. The transport covered by this arrangement is delivered in the West Midlands.
