Forensic Mental Health Step-down Service
Notice Description
This is a notice to inform of a market warming event and planned procurement under the Provider Selection Regime. The Service shall deliver a specialist, structured step-down model for adults who are clinically ready to move on from low and/or medium secure inpatient mental health services, but who cannot safely transition into generic supported living.

The Service shall deliver a specialist, structured step-down model for adults who are clinically ready to move on from low and/or medium secure inpatient mental health services, but who cannot safely transition into generic supported living. Full details will be provided as part of the planned procurement process following the market warming event which this notice is advertising. Additional information: The Service shall deliver a total of 18 units, structured as a two-stage integrated pathway: * High Support Step-down * Lower Support Step-down The Service is for adults (18-65) with a primary forensic mental health need. Adults will have diagnosed mental illness, and will present with comorbidities including autism, learning disability, physical health needs, requiring suitable Provider and staff skills and knowledge. The Service shall be delivered as a supported living model. The support service shall not deliver CQC regulated activities nor require a CQC registration, but CQC registered providers with suitable experience are welcome to bid. The Service shall be closely integrated with SWLStG Forensic Outreach Service, who will oversee and work with the Service Provider across referrals, admissions, community management and discharge. All service users must be on the SWLStG Forensic Outreach Service caseload to be accepted for this Service. There are several dedicated clinical posts to be integrated into service delivery. These posts will be employed and managed by the SWLStG Forensic Outreach Service.
