Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for "Hydrographic Survey Services" has been initiated by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, an executive agency of the Department for Transport situated in Southampton, United Kingdom. This service aims to support the UK's commitment to maritime safety and environmental protection by surveying and mapping UK waters. Currently at the planning stage, the market consultation questionnaire must be completed by 14th September 2026, with contracting set to commence on 1st April 2028 and potentially extend until 31st March 2033. This is a service procurement process above the threshold category, requiring engagement through the DfT procurement portal, Jaggaer.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in hydrographic surveying to participate in a high-value project with an expected budget of £16.5 million to £19.8 million. SMEs and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are particularly encouraged to engage, making it an inclusive opportunity for diverse market players to contribute to ensuring safer navigation and environmental stewardship of UK waters. This initiative not only enhances business growth through governmental contracts but also offers the potential to play a pivotal role in public safety and environmental conservation.
