This procurement relates to the provision of bowel cancer screening endoscopy services primarily colonoscopy procedures delivered as part of the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme. The services support the early detection of bowel cancer and the identification and removal of pre-cancerous lesions in line with national screening standards.
The contract has been awarded under the Provider Selection Regime Direct Award Process C as the existing provider is delivering the services to a satisfactory standard and continuity of clinically safe, effective, and accessible screening services is required. the lifetime of the service is to be 1 year at a cost of PS142,594.40 and will begin 01.08.26 - 31.07.26. Additional information: Maintaining uninterrupted access to bowel screening is essential for patient pathways, early detection rates, and overall service outcomes. The PSR statutory guidance highlights that continuity of service, particularly in regulated clinical pathways, is a key consideration in determining the most suitable procurement route.
