Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board (BSol ICB) is planning a procurement process for a Lung Cancer Screening Programme in Birmingham and Solihull. This initiative is currently at the planning stage with an intention to hold a market engagement event, mainly targeting health services providers. The event is scheduled to take place via MS Teams on 16th June 2026, followed by individual sessions on 17th and 18th June 2026. Interested organisations are invited to express their interest by completing a questionnaire available on the Atamis Health Family portal. The procurement process is conducted in accordance with the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 and involves a contract valued at approximately GBP 21,000,000 over three years, with potential extensions of up to two additional years.

This upcoming tender presents significant opportunities for healthcare providers, particularly those specialising in screening services and lung cancer diagnostics. Businesses with robust capabilities in delivering health services can leverage this opportunity to partner with the NHS and expand their operations within the Birmingham and Solihull regions. The engagement process aims to help refine procurement strategies and service models, providing suppliers an avenue to influence the final tender specifications. With a substantial contract value and a focus on life-saving screening services, businesses well-versed in healthcare delivery and with experience in similar public sector projects stand to benefit greatly from participating in this upcoming procurement opportunity.
