Summary of the contracting process

Kingston Upon Hull City Council is intending to award a contract for the role of Physical Activity Clinical Lead, under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) rooted in the Health Care Services Regulations 2023. This procurement falls under the services category, specifically targeting general-practitioner services with a CPV code of 85121100. In this selective procurement process, the Council identified the most suitable provider without running a competitive exercise. The contract is scheduled to commence on 24th July 2026 and will last until 31st March 2028, with an estimated value of £24,000. The final date for representations by providers is 23rd June 2026, marking the start of the standstill period. The location for the services is specified as Hull (region UKE11), and the procurement stage of the process is marked as the Tender stage.

This tender presents a noteworthy opportunity for businesses, especially those with expertise in physical activity advocacy within healthcare settings, to expand their reach in the health services sector. Companies with strong systems thinking, proven leadership in service innovation, and robust stakeholder engagement would be well-positioned to compete for this contract. The Provider Selection Regime encourages businesses with capabilities in integrated care systems and community health models to demonstrate their potential for long-term collaboration and sustainable service provision. Engaging in this contract could enhance a company's market position within the local healthcare infrastructure, especially through commitments to health inequality reduction and social value contributions.
