Summary of the contracting process

The Home Office is conducting a preliminary market engagement to explore the provision of Independent Medical Advice Services (IMAS) to support asylum and immigration decision-making. Located in London, the Home Office is planning to gather market feedback between June and July 2026, with suppliers required to express interest by 3rd July 2026. This opportunity is in the health and social work services category and aims to enhance casework decision-making with reliable and independent clinical input. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with the actual tender to be announced at a later date. Interested suppliers must register on the Home Office eSourcing Suite and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to access procurement documentation.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses in the health and medical advisory sectors, particularly those experienced in providing clinical consultancy and medical opinion services. SMEs and VCSEs are encouraged to participate, with the potential contract period extending from February 2027 to February 2030, with an option for renewal. Businesses with capabilities to deliver independent clinical reviews, provide medical opinions for casework, and ensure robust clinical governance will find solid growth prospects here. The Home Office is particularly interested in organisations offering innovative delivery models and commercial approaches to support this critical public service.
