Summary of the contracting process

The West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership (WDHSCP) has initiated a public procurement process to establish a flexible framework for providing additional support services to adults aged 18–65. This initiative, under the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015, falls within the social work and related services industry category and is set to serve West Dunbartonshire. The open procedure used for this procurement underscores its transparency and competitiveness. The procurement is currently in the tender stage with a submission deadline on 17th July 2026. Notably, this framework will remain open to new entrants, allowing providers to join after the initial award, offering flexibility and encouraging ongoing market responsiveness.

This tender offers significant opportunities for growth within businesses dedicated to social care services. It is particularly suited to organisations that can deliver person-centred, outcomes-focused support across physical, cognitive, and sensory disabilities, and mental health conditions. Businesses capable of meeting the evaluative criteria, which emphasise quality and regulatory compliance, and those adept in workforce development, are likely to thrive under this framework. As the framework is designed for long-term service provision with ongoing competition, it offers an expansive platform for tender participants to establish and grow their presence in the social services sector, foster sustainable models, and contribute to community benefits through local employment and training initiatives.
