Summary of the contracting process

Nottingham City Council has awarded a contract under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) for the provision of GP health checks within the United Kingdom. The procurement falls under the category of health and social work services, with a focus on community-based NHS Health Checks for adults aged 40 to 74, aimed at preventive health assessment. The contract, valued at £1,875,000, commences on 1st April 2026 and runs until 31st March 2031. The procurement was conducted using a limited method without a prior call for competition, reflecting an award process outside the usual public contract regulations.

This tender offers significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly those specialising in healthcare services, by involving multiple local medical practices such as Deer Park Family Medical Practice and Bilborough Medical Centre, among others. With the health check services focused on early disease detection and risk factor management, the scope of the contract aligns well with providers looking to expand their service offerings in preventive healthcare. This initiative enables successful bidders to play a pivotal role in advancing public health outcomes while supporting their business growth and market presence in the healthcare sector.
