Bernicia Group is seeking a contractor to provide responsive electrical repairs, maintenance, testing and associated works to its housing stock and communal areas in the Berwick-upon-Tweed area. The service is intended to keep electrical installations safe, compliant and operational, while providing a customer-focused service. The contractor will work alongside Bernicia and its general repairs contractor in Berwick, following current electrical regulations and industry best practice, and is expected to minimise disruption to residents. Bernicia invited offers through a competitive flexible procedure with a conditions-of-participation stage, an invitation-to-tender stage and a formal interview. The contract is scheduled to run from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2030, with extensions in periods of at least 12 months possible up to 31 March 2033. The stated gross contract value is £2.5 million. The successful contractor will be expected to undertake works in accordance with all current electrical regulations and industry best practice, achieve agreed performance standards, minimise disruption to customers, and work collaboratively between Bernicia and our general repairs contractor in Berwick to drive continuous improvement, social value outcomes and environmental sustainability throughout the contract term.
