Safe and Well Communities Collaborative Project
Notice Description
Summary: From 1st July 2026 the YMCA Safe and Well Communities programme will expand to additional GDN regions, enabling more YMCAs to support people at risk of fuel poverty and poor home safety outcomes. The project will: Extend access to energy education and advice for vulnerable households Provide support for fuel poverty reduction and improved home safety Strengthen financial, emotional and physical well-being Deliver holistic support, including: Income maximisation Energy efficiency Carbon monoxide (CO) safety Slow Cooker sessions to promote affordable, energy-efficient meals
Procurement Information
The contract supports a regulated VCMA initiative delivered through YMCA, a specialist charity provider with an established national and regional network capable of delivering fuel poverty support, energy efficiency advice, carbon monoxide awareness and wider vulnerability services at scale. The direct award is justified on the basis of continuity of service, existing proven delivery capabilities, established community relationships, and the need to maximise the impact of VCMA funding through a provider already embedded within the target communities across the participating GDN regions.
