The Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board has awarded a contract for the "Continuing Health Service in Cheshire & Merseyside" in the category of health services. This was completed under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, bypassing the usual Public Contracts Regulations 2015. It marks the procurement stage of the award and contract, having resulted in multiple active awards to various suppliers. The service aims to provide comprehensive healthcare solutions including continuing healthcare, funded nursing care, complex care packages, and specialist care for mental health and learning disabilities. The contract, starting on 1 April 2025 and ending on 31 March 2026, will be executed across Cheshire & Merseyside, with specific locations based on patient placements. The procurement method employed was a direct award without prior competitive call, conducted under a special regime for immediate clinical needs.

Suppliers such as Abnercare Ltd, MMCG Topco Holdings Ltd, and Hallmark Care Homes, among others, have been awarded to deliver these services, showcasing the diversity in business sizes and capabilities, ranging from SMEs to larger enterprises. Companies with expertise in delivering patient-centred care, accommodating diverse care needs, and possessing the flexibility to operate across multiple locations in the North West of England will find this contract particularly beneficial for growth within the public sector.
