Summary of the contracting process

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking to procure the NextGen School Health and Wellbeing (SHaW) Service to support the health and development of children and young people across the borough. This initiative falls under the community health services category and is being facilitated through an open procedure under the Provider Selection Regime. The main goal is to provide preventative health support for individuals aged 5-19, extending up to 25 for those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, through close collaboration with schools and families. Located in London, the tender process is currently in the active stage, with the submission deadline set for 24 August 2026. The service is anticipated to commence on 1 April 2027 and may be extended beyond the initial end date of 31 March 2032 at the Council's discretion.

This tender represents an excellent opportunity for businesses specialising in community health services to expand their portfolio within the public sector, particularly those with expertise in child and youth health interventions. With an emphasis on quality (weighted at 80%) in the award criteria, businesses able to demonstrate superior service delivery will be well-positioned to succeed. SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) and VCSEs (Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprises) are particularly encouraged to participate, as the procurement process is accommodating to these types of organisations. Through involvement in this project, businesses can contribute to achieving significant positive outcomes in public health, enhancing their credibility and scope within the health and wellbeing sector.
