Summary of the contracting process

The Royal Armouries Museum, a public authority sub-central government body located in Leeds, has initiated the planning stage for a tender concerning "Window Cleaning Services." The procurement process is set to begin with a market engagement notice published on 1st August 2026. Businesses interested in participating need to request a supplier questionnaire by 7th August 2026, with a submission deadline by 17th August 2026. The contract covers various cleaning services within the museum and New Dock Hall facilities in Leeds, with a projected start date of 1st May 2027. This service-based procurement falls under the main procurement category of services and carries an estimated contract value of £400,000, inclusive of VAT, with the possibility of optional extensions.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses in the window cleaning and facilities management industry to expand their client base by securing a high-profile contract within the public sector. Companies with the capability to adhere to health and safety regulations, particularly those concerning Working at Height, and those committed to social value criteria such as fair work and fair pay practices, will be particularly well-suited for this opportunity. The procurement encourages participation from suppliers who can demonstrate their workforce engagement strategies and their commitment to paying above the National Minimum or Living Wage, thus providing an avenue for businesses prioritising fair employment practices to grow and enhance their industry reputation.
