Summary of the contracting process

The Mining Remediation Authority, a central government public authority, is currently in the planning stage for a tender titled "Mine Entry Inspections." This procurement process, aimed at visual inspections of 10,000 mine entry locations annually, spans various regions of the UK Coalfields, including England, Scotland, and Wales. The inspections will cover both residential and rural locations. Interested organisations are invited to submit an Expression of Interest by 21 August 2026. The procurement is part of a structured service category offering, and it utilises a framework agreement as the procurement method.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in surveying, technical inspection, and risk assessment services. It is particularly advantageous for SMEs, as they can demonstrate their expertise and expand their market presence across multiple regions in the UK. The overall contract value is set at £1,440,000, with a precise focus on those capable of fulfilling stringent health and safety, technical, and operational requirements. Organisations with prior experience in contracting with public authorities and those capable of adaptable delivery across varied geographic and locational contexts would find this opportunity well-suited to their capabilities.
