Summary of the contracting process

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council sought a service provider to collect, treat, process and recycle or recover timber waste from domestic and commercial sources brought to its recycling centres. Suppliers needed to demonstrate a credible treatment and recovery or recycling operation, address environmental considerations and social value, and explain how contract waste would be accepted, recorded and reported. A transport plan and contingency arrangements formed part of the required service proposal, alongside compliance with applicable waste-management legislation. The two separate operating areas gave suppliers the choice to pursue either service or both, making the opportunity relevant to providers with coverage and operational capacity around Gortrush or Drummee Transfer Station. The council reported that tenderers failed its conditions of participation, so suppliers considering similar work should check the participation requirements carefully.

Tenderers may quote for either or both Lots.
