First Trenitalia West Coast Rail Limited intends to procure a comprehensive cleaning and facilities maintenance service for Avanti West Coast. The procurement will suit established cleaning and facilities services providers able to operate consistently across a dispersed railway estate and associated offices. Relevant capability includes station, office, car park and washroom cleaning; waste management; pest control; and landscaping and vegetation maintenance, including planned preventative maintenance. Suppliers should be prepared to demonstrate safe, legally compliant operations, reliable service performance and the ability to meet Department for Transport Service Quality Regime requirements. The buyer is also looking for innovation in service delivery and credible sustainable and socially responsible practices, including waste arrangements aligned with Simpler Recycling legislation. Businesses should prepare for a pre-qualification assessment: only applicants passing all non-qualitatively scored questions will be considered, with invitations to tender based on the highest scores.

Avanti West Coast (AWC) are the operator of intercity rail services on the West Coast Main Line. A joint venture between First Group and Trenitalia. AWC operate 16 stations along the West Coast Main Line as well as a number of offices at other Network Rail managed stations along with some additional offices. The scope of this contract is designed to ensure that AWC environments are not only clean and hygienic, but also well-maintained, safe, and compliant with all relevant legislation and industry best practices in line with Department for Transport (DfT) Service Quality Regime (SQR) requirements. AWC's focus is on partnering with a supplier who can deliver consistent performance, demonstrate innovation in service delivery, and embed sustainable and socially responsible practices.
