Facilitate earlier discharge from general or T4 mental health hospitals Due to the urgent pressures within Emergency Departments these contracts have been awarded under the urgent award route of PSR. The lifetime value of the contracts is PS2,231,922 and the contracts run from 1st October 2026 until 31st March 2027.

Procurement Information

This contract has been awarded under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). This contract has been awarded under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award. The urgent award route was used due to the increased demand on Emergency department for patients presenting with mental health illnesses during the winter period. The contract will run from 1st October 2026 to 31st March 2027. This contract was approved by Toucan Senior Leadership Team and through a Partnership Working Group held on 8th September 2026. There were no conflicts of interests declared during the approval process.
