Summary of the contracting process

Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council is overseeing a public procurement process for "Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG's) 2025-2027" in Ebbw Vale, with the aim of establishing an approved list of contractors to perform various adaptation works. This tender falls under the "works" category in the construction industry and involves multiple types of tasks including building works, wet room or bathroom adaptations, heating system installations, electrical installations, and lift installations. Contractors are invited to apply for inclusion in the approved list by 12th March 2025, with potential award decisions to be made by 28th March 2025. The procurement method is open, and all documentation must be accessed and submitted via the Etenderwales portal.

This tender offers significant opportunities for growth for businesses in construction, plumbing, heating, and electrical sectors. Companies with expertise in building adaptations, particularly those geared towards disabled facilities installations, are well-suited for this bid. As the Council guarantees no specific business levels, this framework could provide supplementary revenue streams based on client needs. Additionally, businesses flexible enough to handle multiple types of adaptation works or those willing to form consortia to broaden their service offerings are encouraged to participate.
