Notice Description

In 2023/24 Newport City Council (NCC) collected 1120 tonnes of absorbent hygiene product waste from over 6300 households at the kerbside. This waste was disposed of to incineration.Newport City Council is searching options to divert Absorbent Hygiene Products (AHP) waste from incineration as the current disposal route to a treatment and recovery option with associated carbon reduction benefits and cost savings to the service in collection and disposal.This speculative notice invites suitable permitted licensed facilities to express their interest to tender for a haulage and treatment contract for NCC AHP waste.
