Business Planning consultant for delivery stage application: Plas Gunter Mansion Trust
Notice Description
We wish to appoint a Business Planning Consultant to work with the Trust in creating a detailed business plan for Plas Gunter Manion once it has reopened after a significant capital investment. The Development Phase is expected to take 18 months between January 2024 and April 2025. This phase of the project will end with the submission to the National Lottery Heritage Fund of the Delivery Phase application in April 2025 (although could potentially be extended until December 2025).As part of our early feasibility work, we worked with The Funding Centre to develop an early business model for the project, submitted as part of our development phase application to the Heritage Fund. This work now needs to be further developed to better understand exactly how we will be able to deliver our mission, whilst generating the revenues required to maintain the building and ensure the financial resilience of the organisation.Whilst the methodology will be developed in consultation with the consultant, we anticipate that activities will include:- Assessment and description of the final operating model.- Detailed research into market potential of all trading activity, such as ticket sales, room hire, events, shop and online retail sales, and so on.- Assessment and description of full expenditure required to operate the organisation in order to deliver ambitious objectives.- Engaging with marketing and fundraising consultants to fully understand the income-generating potential of philanthropy.- Producing a detailed cashflow for the five-year period after opening.- Detailed description of risk.Under the auspices of this project, other consultants and specialists will be helping us to develop our community engagement, our understanding and behaviours around diversity and our environmental impacts. The consultant will have full access to the whole project team and any information gathered in preparation for our various applications. Specifically, you will need to work closely with our Architect, Activities & Audience Development Consultant, Interpretation Consultant, and Fundraiser to ensure the Business Plan accurately reflects the development of the project. The following outputs will be required:- Competition and market analysis.- Attendance at steering group meetings.- Draft business plan for review and challenge.- Final business plans.A proposal for undertaking the work should include:- CV and contact details, including a short summary demonstrating suitability, qualifications and experience.- Details of track record and relevant experience.- References of two referees for work of a similar nature.- Proposed approach and methodology.- Proposed formats for presentation of findings, recommendations and outputs.- Total cost for professional services, including VAT.- VAT status.
